Pass from Kerch in Ukrainia to Temryuk in Russia
Hello, we are two experienced travellers planning a trip to Ukrainia, Russia and Kazakhstan. We travel with a Toyota LC prepared with bed and need to know if it is possible to pass from Ukrainia to Russia (or from Yalta, in Crimea, to Russia).As Spaniards, we already know we need a visa for Russia (not for Ukriania), but our first question would be if we need a visa to pass from Uklrainia to Crimea, as it seems to be an independent country.
Our second question will want to know wether it's possible or not to cross from Crimea to Russia (either by ferry or by road, if there's one). We would like to go from Kerch in Crimea to Taman or Temryuk in Russia.
Hope some would be able to solve this somehat puzzling question,

OK, OK, It's not an indsependent country, I read through the word "Crimea" too quickly in Spanish wikipedia, where it's said it is a "república autónoma de Ucrania"… Don't worry, be happyBy the way, you didn't answer our questions at all, would you be so kind to answer them

There is a ferry from Kerch to Port Kavkaz on the Russian side, which is no big deal.
Hint: ask your Spanish insurer if they will issue a Green Card valid for Russia, too, otherwise you will have to obtain Russian car insurance at the ferry terminal in Kerch.

I see, I think I have a Green Card valid for Russia, but if I need to buy one I will have to get it wether I cross by ferry in Kerch or not; in other words, this is not determinant to decide wether it's better for me or not to cross via Kerch or go round from Yalta to Simferopol, Melitopol, Mariupol, Elista (and then Astrakhan and Kazakhstan border… It would be nice to know which one of the two ways is nicer in terms on countryside.Thanks a lot, Mattoni for your specific answer
