Overstayed on student visa (France), now banned for 2 years!

Theoretically PeterKP, you could be telling the truth and were simply stupid. However, even if that is the case you have to deal with what is and that is that you are banned for 2 years. If you have a lawyer working on it that is all you can do.No one here can offer you any useful advice beyond that.

Beerfree, do you actually think anyone cares whether YOU would call it criminal or not? Obviously France does and that's all that matters. Overstaying a visa is a crime.
