Wuyuan County in Late November

Many people have mentioned that Wuyuan County has the most beautiful countryside scenery in China. I intend to visit Huangshan in late November, and will spend 4 days around the area after/before my climb Mount Huangshan.

The areas that have been recommended include Da Likeng, Small Likeng, JiangLing, Qingyuan, Lingqiao,Guankeng, Xiaoqi and Hongguan.

Are the above places worth visiting in late autumn? I hear that some areas in Wuyuan have beautiful fall scenery such as Shicheng and Changxi (not sure whether I got the names right). Anybody has any idea which are the ones and how to get there?

If I intend to travel by minibus or private cars, is there a town whereby I can find decent accommodation such as hostels which can arrange for guided tours, or as a base to tour around the area? Do these places have electric heating pads in winter?

Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you.

I waited a while to see if there are more experienced travelers who want to comment. Now I'll chip in my 2 cents.

The towns of Changxi and Shicheng are already quite well-known among domestic tourists for autumn colors. Shicheng in particular attracts a small horde of photographers every morning in mid to late November. That said, the photos taken by Chinese photographers do look amazing and I'm considering visiting in early November. Google up some photos to see whether you think it's worthwhile as a photo spot -- but don't expect much peace.

There's supposed to be only one bus a day, starting out from each village towards the main town (Ziyang town) in the early morning, and returning in the early afternoon. If this doesn't work for you, and it probably won't, be prepared to hire a taxi.

Thanks to all for the quick replies. I have done a search on lonely planet but could not find much information about the two towns ShiCheng and Changxi. Do let me know if these towns are worth visiting in Autumn and the accommodation around the area. I hope they can be accessible as day trips from the main Wuyuan town centre.
