cheapest way to purchase flights within Ecuador
Hello fellow travelers,I was wondering if anyone knew the best way to get flights at the lowest possible price within Ecuador. I have a few internal flights I will need to get tickets for, (roundtrip from Quito to Manta, and Quito and Cuenca). Is it cheaper to just wait and buy my tickets at the airports in Ecuador? Will I save any money buying tickets directly from TAME online? Any thoughts or experiences?.....

Flights are usually a little cheaper online and if you buy in advance you can find better offers. Unfortunately the Tame website doesn´t work very well (unless improvements have been made in the last 2 months) so it might just be easier to go to an agency or Tame office. They will probably only add $5 to the price you could get online. I wouldn´t wait until you get to the airport unless you are a long way from an office.Graham

It's quite easy to purchase tickets in the city, either at the airport or an airline office. The airlines don't usually play the silly fare games that U.S. airlines do, where you have to time it just right. Generally, the fares remain the same. If you must leave on a certain day, I would recommend purchasing a few days ahead of time.3
I agree with azb that flight fares don't really change that much here, even right up till the day you leave. The TAME website doesn't work but you can buy tickets at their office. LAN's website works well but if you go in, they charge you more. I had a flight to the Galapagos that I booked months ago, only to have to change it a few days before departure, which I had to do at the LAN office, and even though I wasn't charged a change fee, the fare was now a bit higher but like $50. But they charged me fees to do it in person so it ended up being like $75 more.
