Twiga Lodge (Arusha)

Does anyone know if this lodge offers budget accommodation or camping? What is the cheapest rate to stay there?

I don't think they do camping. It's a fairly high end lodge run by Shaw Safaris (English couple I think). Still it would be worth an email to check. This is their website.

I have tried a few places but never found anywhere nice to camp in Arusha itself.

There is also a Twiga Lodge in Mto Wa Mbu just down the road (near Manyara). This is a much more budget stop-over $10pp camping - not sure what rooms are. A favourite for overlanders. Personally I don't rate it much. There are much nicer camping options in the area - I like Migunga where the campsite is in a yellow fever tree grove.

Just a follow-up:

Erika at Twiga Lodge informed me that they do not allow camping and their rooms start at $130 per night pp with b&b.

But she said there are two other lodges in the vicinity that have camping: Colobus Mountain Lodge and Mbega Lodge. They seem to be just a few minutes away.
