FAO UK citizens in Canada international experience/whvI was hoping someone could help me. When applying for the visa what kind of proof did you need I show that you were resident in the UK for the 18 months out I previous 3 years. Employer references/bank statements/bills????
I've been in Australia for just over 18 months and apparently am not eligible for a whv anymore. I'm going to hold my hands up right here and say I'm planning to apply for the visa and hope for the best. I know that will piss some people off on here but there you go.
Thanks a lo

You dont have to provide any evidence that you lived in the UK. They just take your word for it as far as I know..
What does “3 years habitual residency requirement” mean?
This means that that a candidate’s habitual residence (i.e. physically residing/living) must be in the UK for a period of at least three years full-time directly prior to applying to the IEC. An exception can be made if the candidate has temporarily resided in a foreign country for studies or short-term work, but the time spent outside the UK must not exceed 18 months cumulative over the three previous years.
So you were in australia on an education exchange program for 17 months?

I always play it safe and I would try and prove 3 year habitual residency if you are not sure you have been resident for the time period they suggest. using utility bills, phone bills etc - anything that is formal and has a company logo etc on the letter is a god start - official proof of you living in the UK.
I have been living in Canada for the past 2 years under the International Experience Canada UK Program and have loved it - any more questions give me a shout!
all the best,
