Questions Holbox/Yucatan in FebruaryCan anyone tell me about Holbox, where I plan to visit with my kids in February? I used to go to Tulum a fair bit (20 years ago, pre children!), but it sounds like it has changed from the $10 a night days, and I am looking for something a bit unspoilt (but not so basic as to make it a drag with three under 8s!).
Is Holbox it? Anywhere else people would recommend with three young kids in Yucatan? Also, is the wind an issue in Holbox, will it make beach unbearable in February? Should I revisit Tulum for old time sake or will I be a bit disappointed?
Any advice would be gratefully received!

2How about a vacation rental on the coast near Mahahual? Should be nice and quiet and unspoilt down there (need a car) . . .

3Have not been to Mahual for twenty years. It was a small fishing village then. Check this Forum for comments on it...... box up on right side. The kids would love Isla. Check out Puerto Morelos, My Mexican friends go there. The other areas along the coast is full of tourists...from below Puerto Morelos to Tulum. But if you stay away from Mega Resorts, it should be OK.

5it is windy season in Holbox in February, but it shouldn't be a problem - you can venture around to other beaches if you want a little more shelter... depend son the wind direction..
For accommodation try Tribu hostel as they have some good deals...
enjoy your holiday wherever you go..
