1Why on earth would the exchange desk in Brussels airport have yuan? I think you have to wait until you arrive in China.
Have you tried some currency exchange places in Budapest?

7If you have debit/credit cards and US$ cash i really don't think you will have trouble getting Chinese currency on arrival.
Where did you have problems before? Its strange these days.....I must have been to 50-60 non-European countries over the last 7 years and never bought currency in advance for any of them.

8Yep I will land at Beijing airport...it's my first trip to China...that's why I would like to have some cash with me...had bad experience with Russian ATM so yeah I like taking precautions :)

10yeah it was an ATM at the airport and it swallowed my card and I didn't have backup so I had to wait until morning with 20 euros in my pocket. So...ever since I always make sure to have some cash in the local currency wherever I travel. But if exchanging at Beijing airport is no problem I will echange there...maybe I am overthinking everything because I have never traveled to China before.

11Given that the Yuan is not freely convertible no regular bank etc in Europe or America will exchange it. Like others, i see no need to do so amyway.
