Patara Elephant Farm - Costs?
Hello all,My girlfriend really wants to do the whole Elephant back ride and cleaning/feeding them. I found this website:
http://www.pataraelephantfarm.com/
TripAdvisor reviews rate it highly and it seems fair to the animals which is obviously a major factor in choice of company. I cannot find a price though.
Anyone used before or any idea how much for a day?
As always,
Thanks!!

Yes it's 5800 baht for their "Elephant Owner for a Day" program. Probably the most expensive elephant place in Thailand, but gets rave reviews. Also check out Elephant Nature Park which is about 2500 baht for one day.5
The two places I mentioned on the other thread are these ones:http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thailand/chiang-mai-province/chiang-mai/activities/elephant-park/patara-elephant-farm?ticket=ST-190287-pTEsYxnGaFu1GbY71jPr-secure.prod.lpo

I've made reservations to go here in Nov. It is expensive but after reading this blog - there was no way I was going to miss out on this place and the experience you have with your own elephant. I looked at the cost as this being a once in a life time opportunity. http://travelwithheather.com/adventure-stories/elephant-kisses-at-the-patara-elephant-farm
