Coron or Puerto Galera or others for diving
I will go to Philippines by the end of this year. I only have five days, I want to explore as much as I can.My Itinerary is
Day 1 arrive in Bohol, after more than 20 hours fly + transfer I will need some rest, I may able to go to chocolate hills in the afternoon
2 days in Bohol need suggestions on what to do, take ferry to cebu prepare for morning flight to somewhere
Day 3,4,5 I am thinking of go diving
Maybe coron or Puerto Galera or any other suggestion?
Puerto Galera is very difficult to access, need to fly back to manila and take bus/ferry.
I can take ferry to Cebu and fly to coron directly.
Or is there any way I can get to PG from coron directly, then I can spread three days on both islands.
I am Leaving in the evening of day 5. Which is the best places for diving,?

that is not a hoilday. 5 days is far to small a time to see 3 places.better Just to go to one place for 5 days.
so 5 days in Bohol or 5 days in Coron or 5 days in Puerto Galera.
it would take all day to go from Bohol to Coron as you would need to get from
bohol to cebu airport then fly cebu to Coron.
and to get from Coron to Puerto galera you have to fly to manila. then bus to Batangas
(2 hours) then ferry over to Puerto galera (one hour).
if you were to try to do all 3 places in 5 days 2 days would be travel.
Just find one nice place for diving and stay 5 days.

asean, you are probably right, but I am short of vacations. I will remove pg from my list.but i can remove neither coron or bohol, i want to take the pictures of chocolate hills so badly and diving is the major reason of this trip.

the cebupacific plane takes off from cebu going to coron at 10.50am.so you have to get the frist fast ferry from Bohol going to Cebu.
Oceanjet departs from tagbilaran at 7.05am and you get to cebu 8.30am.=php800 up
then a taxi from the pier 1 going to Cebu airport php250.
there is also a slow night ferry going from Tagbilaran going to Cebu.
you depart tagbilaran at 22.30pm and get to cebu at 3.30am. php225.
you can sleep on the ferry till 6am then go cebu airport by ferry and Jeppeny for php30
the ferry goes from pier 3 to Lapu-lupu then there is a Yellow jeppeny going from Lapu-lupa
pier going to cebu mactan airport.
so fast ferry and taxi =php1050. or slow night ferry and ferry/jeppeny =php255.

Hi,You got your real answer here, you cannot possibly enjoy your proposed itinerary. Looks like whatever you do you are going to Bohol. So spend your 5 days there. You really want the Chocolate hills you say. What if the little time you propose to spend in Bohol you are prevented, for one reason or another, from going on that particular day? Take it easy you can find plenty to do for 5 days on Bohol, just back from there a week ago.
Stay in Tagbilaran and rent a cheap motorbike out is an option, I found a good place just down one of the side roads by McDonalds. You can go it alone to the hills and explore the rest of the island also. Go over the causeway to the beach and you will get your diving in, plenty of places on the beach or you can arrange an island trip. I stayed at Matig A guest house. The new rooms at the back are good and quiet. Bargained them down to a thousand peso per night. Good bbq place to eat just down the road and a nice place just around the corner. You are just off the square and a few minutes walk from the town centre. Don't spoil your precious time by cramming in too much and spending half your time travelling from one place to another.

OP, I agree with the others. Choose one place and stick to it. Your first day will be wiped out if you have been flying for 20+hours, then you say you are leaving on the evening of the 5th day. That means you only have 4 nights and 3 full days. You will have to leave wherever you are mid-morning or midday on the 5th day to get back to Manila for your evening flight to allow a reasonable amount of time in between your flights. I'd say even this is cutting it close as sometimes flights are cancelled or delayed.It's utter madness to try and do 2 places in this timeframe. The easier option is for you to stay on Bohol, do the Chocolate Hills and diving there.

I agree with everyone else - stick to Bohol, take in a few tarsiers and the chocolate hills but if you really want to do something different do your diving at Coron for wrecks or Puerto Galera for fish and currents then find a patch of grass, get some tennis balls and cut them in two and soak in gravy for a few hours, place the upturned tennis balls about 30 cms apart then take a photo of them from ground level then lie and tell people they are your pics from the chocolate hills - no one will know the difference.13
direct Cebu to Coron?...I sure can't find it. I come up with flight 560 to Manila and then flight 531 to Busuanga. Cebu Pacific added additional flights to Coron but they still originate from Manila. The direct flights from Cebu as I understand them are to Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Boracay, Dipolog, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Legazpi, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Siargao, Surigao and Tacloban.14
