China Visa Health Insurance Coverage ? Do I need it to get Visa?
I was just filling out my VISA application. There is a question regarding whether or not I have health insurance coverage for my trip. I will be in Shenzhen for only 3 days. Do i need to have Health Care Coverage to be accepted for my visa? Thanks

Actually, I think they could use lack of health insurance coverage as grounds to deny you a visa. They don't want to risk that a Chinese hospital might go uncompensated for your care if you should get in an accident or fall ill during your visit. If I were you, I would purchase short term traveler's health insurance. You can find it online.Whenever there is a space on a visa form demanding information, fill it in, even if the answer is "not applicable." In your case, health insurance is always applicable because you never know when you might need it.

they don't seem to mind whether you say yes or no, just if you say yes then they have a way of helping or having recorded who you are with as there have been a number of instances in recent years where foreigners were ill or in accidents and there was no record of which fmaily members to contact or which health insurancejust write n/a as suggested or better still get a short travel insurance cover and actually be covered for it.

Visa was granted no problem. I got my visa through visahq.com and they advised me about any controversial questions to lie. I couldnt believe they told me that, but I did and i was accepted so they must not be to particular. Im assuming its protocal to ask but not the dertermining factor of acceptance or denial.ADVERTISEMENT
