Traveling in France
I am planning a solo trip from Italy to France (stopping in Germany for a couple days too). I'm going to be arriving in Nice via rail from Alba, Italy, on November 8, leaving from Paris on November 28. I'd like to arrive in Paris on the 24th. Any suggestions for how long/where I should go in between? This is my tentative plan... I'd love some guidance!Nov 8-10: Nice
Nov 10-12: Marseille
Nov 12-13: Avignon
Nov 13-16: unsure... lyon?
Nov 16- 18: Requewihr
Nov 18-20: Freiburg, Germany
Nov 20-22: Strasbourg
Nov 22- 24: unsure... Nancy?
I'd love to know if I'm trying to squeeze in too much, if there are some awesome small towns I'm missing, etc. Thanks a lot everyone!

Nov 10-12: MarseilleYou can stay in Marseille and visit Aix-en-Provence or vice versa.
Nov 13-16: unsure... lyon?
I'd suggest Montpellier (maybe with day trips to Nîmes and Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert).
Nov 16- 18: Requewihr
You mean Riquewihr? It's pretty but very small and touristy, hardly worth more than half a day unless you use it as base to explore the region. But I think Ribeauvillé was nicer, as there were not so many tourists around.

Great choice to visit Freiburg. Two of the best views I have ever seen there - firstly go up the hill in the town and on the top is a little viewing tower, on top of which is a little spiral staircase that just stops. It's one of the most precarious-feeling places I can remember being - and even if the view is not strictly the world's best (we've all seen lots of high places!) the sense of being on top of everything is. Also there's a cable car near the town which goes up a mountain, if you walk along there's another viewing tower, from the top of which is another fantastic view. Freiburg is a beautiful town in general though. As for your itinerary. It sounds nice, but really you need to include details on travel between places for anyone to really usefully comment.

I'm traveling via rail for the entirety. In that case, you'd better find out about train connections between those places. On the map, it looks like Annecy is on the way from Avignon to Riquewihr. In reality, the fastest connection from Annecy to Riquewihr is via Lyon.

Tickets go on sale three months in advance. The earlier you book, the less you pay.

Nov 8-10: NiceNov 10-12: Marseille
Nov 12-13: Avignon
Do one more night in Nice as the backland and some places along the coast are pretty nice and interesting: Monaco, Villefranche, Antibes, Haute de Cagnes, St. Paul
I would suggest you skip Marseille as there is much more to see in other parts like Aix, Arles, or as said Montpellier, Nimes, Avignon and Orange.
Nov 13-16: unsure... lyon?
Yes Lyon and why not on the way Beaune, Dijon or Besançon.
Nov 16- 18: Requewihr
and Ribeauvillé and Comar of course.
Nov 18-20: Freiburg, Germany
One day would be enough for this town. The view as in #2 is fine but you go in November what means very short daylight and if it is not raining its foggy and if it's not foggy it's raining - and cold all the time.
Nov 22- 24: unsure... Nancy?
What do you think about Metz and/or Reims before Paris?
