I wonder if you had an accident that required hospitalisation or evacuation in Cu Chi Tunnels would that be covered ? How many people go there and dont realise there is a fair chance they aren't covered when underground...21
I believe travel insurance policies cover travel by motorcycle as a pillion passenger and travel if you are driving providing you are holding a license valid for the country you are in. You don't need a license (obviously) as a passenger and will still receive coverage.Thinking about the OP's plans again, I now think that 2 weeks would be a bit rushed for the itinerary suggested. It's certainly possible to do way more than just 100km a day on a motorbike, but much more than around 300km a day in Vietnam would be very tiring indeed. So skipping the boring parts such as the road just south of Hanoi down to Hue would mean you could cover the 600km odd distance between the cities in around 2 days. In any case, giving yourself more time would make the trip a lot more interesting and less stressful too.

symphon, yes it is possible to do 300 kms / day, i have many 400 kms days under my belt, but at those speeds and time on the bike, one does not see anything but the road in front of the bikethose long days of mine are when going somewhere specific, like going s friends place 1000 kms away ...
as for touring and sightseeing which is what holidays are about i think, 125 / 150 kms / day is a good average, in the north, 100 to 125 kms / day
sorta like a 1 hour flight from nha trang to danang in order to get to hoian will take 5 hours from Jungle beach ... gotta to get to the airport, wait for the plane, fly 1 hour, drive 45 minutes to hoian ...

Spelunking is on my anti-bucket list.It joins tubing in Laos, caravaning around australia and bungee jumping :)
