South Africa car rental

Hi,

We are trying to rent a car In south Africa but there is a stipulation we are worried about.

They say the person who pays with a credit card has to be a driver in order to rent the car. Well, I'm only license and my friend (has NO license) has the credit card. So according to there contract terms, we cannot rent.

Anyone experience this before? Do they forget their 'rule' and take the money anyways?

Cheers

Hi. Just pay for an additional driver. It is not expensive and should sort out your dilemma.

I'm the only only licensed driver. We can't pay for another driver because he doesn't have a license.

We hired a car through something called eleiebil.no (Norwegian part of a company that rents Out cars all over the world). I paid, but wasn't one of the drivers, it wasn't an issue.

Maybe another company could help you?

Thanks for re oommendation. I couldn't find there page in English though. I've been through a ton of sa rental companies and they all want the person paying to have a drivers license. Even if they have a broken arm and clearly won't be driving.

I can't find anyone. Thanks for your time though.
