Home stays

Has anyone here used the site homestaybookings.com and if so with what results? Any other similar sites you could recommend?

yeah...stayed at a private home in San Jose Costa Rica...worked out well....the man spoke English...and there was another person who also spoke English...very nice very friendly and would recommend....by the way...there are usually many hotels so if anything does not work out....you can find a hotel...
