Herbie .. It's some of the best French food that i have eaten ,and at that price i found very hard not too eat there most nights ..

If you are in the area it's well worth a visit and your right on the name .. Le Bistrot de Paris it is ....

The French Beans are to die for as are the Vichi Carrots , and the Steak is fantastic i spent four months working my way through his Menu and i don't think that i eaten one bad meal in there ...

Sounds like you've been blowing the budget on cheap wine.

and a 500 ml bottle costs 500 riel

Not in a restaurant or guesthouse. And even in the shops I haven't seen decent water for 500 Riels.

Not sure about 500ml bottles, I always bought 1.5l bottles for about 1,500-2,000 riel. Depends what you call decent water. Generally I thought the water quality to be fine unlike some other countries like Philippines which is nearly all distilled water.

My last Guesthouse in Phnom Penh i was getting decent bottled water at about 50 cents for a litre and a half , but i was also getting two free 500 ml bottles off them too , so that balanced out my water consumption costs per day ... ..
