ticket prices
Hello!I'm sorry I'm probably asking a question which has been discussed earlier in this forum, but couldn't find actual posts answering my question clearly. Is it actually cheaper to buy the tickets for the trains on the trans-siberian route online via the rzd.ru site than buying them at the train stations? I was planning to do the latter to keep being as flexible as possible, but if there's a price difference I might buy at least some of the tickets ahead.
Thank you!

Ticket prices on the rzd.ru website are the same as at the train station. There are no special discounts that are available online or for advance purchases. The advantage of buying online is getting the tickets you want on the train you want on the date you want, options you might not have when buying last minute. This is especially try for travel on weekends between Moscow and St. Petersburg during summer, for certain routes or certain classes of tickets at certain times of the year.Lots of people plan to wait to buy tickets only to discover that the class of service they want is not available when they want to travel.

I do not believe that you will get a 50-percent discount on train tickets. Unless they increased the prices by 100 percent and give you a dicount. I traveled many times by train in Russia and you have to pay the price printed on the tickets.Spoerle
