Labuan Bajo to Padang Bai prices listHi everyone, I've just done the journey between Flores and Bali and thought I'd share the prices I paid for different parts!
Labuan bajo to Bali
Lbajo to sape ferry: 49000rp
Sape to bima minibus: 20000rp
Bima to Mataram coach and ferry: 125000rp
Mataram to Lembar minibus: 15000rp
Lembar to Padang bai ferry: 36000rp
The journey took about 35 hours but was pretty easy, although the final Lombok to Bali boat stopped off shore for about 2 hours as there was a queue to dock.
Hope this helps

Yeah that Ferry queue dock is frustrating.
Anyone going the reverse direction, be advised that the Lembar ferry port can be a bit of a hassle. Taxi drivers trying to rip you off and keep you from finding local transport. Be sure to get there early as late you won't be able to avoid them. When I've taken the ferry over, I hop to Padang Bai, have a nice late dinner and a few beers (even some live music in town), then hop on the 1am ferry. Arrive in Lombok around 6am with plenty of time to move on. Last time they rented me a small room for 50k (negotiated down from 100k, YMMV depending on how many other "rich" folks are around). Sadly the ride is only 4 hrs so not really enough time to get a good nights sleep.

7Another way of beating the Lembar Taxi Mafia is to book a through trip through your hotel.
This year I paid Rp 70,000 for a through trip from the Parta Inn in Padang Bai to Mataram. An Ojek took me from the Parta Inn and deposited me at the ferry terminal. In Lembar, I waved my ticket and a bemo dropped me off at Cakranegara without having to bargain with the horrible Lembar Taxi Mafia.

8+1 on the prepaid idea. Wow just 70K? That's fantastic, not much more than an Indonesian could do.
I always take my motorbike to Lombok. Just be sure you have all your paperwork in order (registration and a real or fake drivers license) as they check coming in and leaving Bali. Not sure if they take bribes but not a good time to find out :)

9This year I was talking to some foreign surfers who were crossing from Bali to Lombok with hired motorcycles. The real fare is around Rp 100,000 for the rider and motorcycle. Apparently some of the ticket sellers were "trying it on" by telling foreigners that the Rp 100,000 was for the motorcycle only and that they would have to pay Rp 36,000 extra for the rider.

10For those interested in going overland from Bali to Flores. I did this trip in March this year by public transport. My trip took 34 hours and was very uncomfortable. To do this trip you should be able to bargain, speak Bahasa Indonesia and have considerable endurance. The total cost was Rp 316,000.
Padang Bai to Cakranegara Rp 70,000 Ojek/Ferry/Bemo
Cakranegara to Bretais Rp 10,000 Ojek
Bretais to Bima Rp 150,000 Bus/Ferry/Bus
Bima to Kumbe Rp 10,000 Bemo
Kumbe to Sape Rp 10,000 Bus
Sape to Harbour Rp 10,000 Ojek
Harbour to Labuan Bajo Rp 46,000 Ferry
Labuan Bajo to Hotel Rp 10,000 Ojek

13The bima to Mataram leg wasn't the most comfortable, but for 25000rp more you can get some really nice coaches. The reason we went cheap was because we thought we would be on one of the luxury buses. Nevertheless, I've had worse journeys in Vietnam/Laos and the ferries are good fun. Awful films/music though. I would do the journey again.
The scenery was really nice too.
I'll try and post up some info on any other journeys I do. Currently in java waiting for a train to Surabaya.

14I imaging being able to speak Indonesia would have been useful, but we have a very limited Indonesian vocabulary and got by just fine
