Honeymoon in Europe (January)
We're planning to spend our honeymoon somewhere in Europe since we're having our wedding in Ukraine. Our initial plan was Venice then a ski resort somewhere and then Amsterdam, before flying back home (Dubai)We're concerned about the weather! any ideas or suggestions???

Any cities in Europe that you might recommend for a honeymoon in January???4
What do you want? Do you want to be near a ski resort? All the cities in Europe in January will be at their coldest, Sevilla,Malaga and Lisbon will be slightly warmer. But as you are getting married in Ukraine most places will be warmer than there. January is a great time to visit European cities as unless there is a big event they will be a lot less crowded. I do not see anything wrong with Amsterdam or Venice, I would have answered the same for 95% of European cities in January5
My suggestion would be to bring warm clothes... It's winter in January, everywhere will be either snowy and cold or rainy/foggy and cold or dark and cold or a combination of them all. That doesn't mean it's a bad time to visit. If you dress warmly, you can still walk around the cities and enjoy them lighting up at 5 pm when it starts getting dark, you can go shopping and visit museums and any park or garden looks nice in the snow. And of course, there are lots of options for skiing all over the continent....7
Well personally I'd postpone your honeymoon until the weather's a damn sight nicer (and the nights are shorter). Seriously I would. But if you insist on January, the options you've chosen are fine as they stand. Use http://www.seat61.com to learn about trains, and http://www.skyscanner.net to hop by plane if necessary. http://www.bahn.co.uk will give you a european train timetable.

What are you looking to do there is nothing wrong with Venice and Amsterdam but as we do not what you want to do it is hard to advise. Personally at that time of year i would just mix the skiing with maybe with a city nearby for example Venice for the Dolomites or Salzburg for Austrian Tryol. If I was going to concentrate on cities i would head further north to somewhere like Tallinn and Helsinki where you should get snow covered cities which adds to the romance and you use a boat to get between the two. But for my hoenymoon I would be heading to Asia or the Caribbean at that time of the year
