as fast as can be to pulau weh
hi guysi know this question belongs more to the asian branch, but you guys are just the wisest ;) has anyone an idea what would be the most fast, cheapest and comfortable route to Pulau Weh/Bandah Aceh, Phillipines? I'd guess it would be via Bangkok, right? I am travelling from Hamburg with my 2 years old boy. thanks for any ideas or help!

Bandah Aceh is a province on the island of Sumatra which is part of Indonesia, not Phillippines. I imagine you could fly there from Jakarta or even Kuala Lumpur but ask on the Indonesian branch as there are members there who have been to Pulau Weh, its a popular little island just north of Banda Aceh.2
uhm, yes of course I mean at Sumatra, Indosesia ;)4
Fastest would be HAM to CKG (Jakarta) on Emirates, then CKG to BTJ (Banda Aceh) on Garuda.Probably cheaper overall is HAM to BKK and then use AirAsia from BKK to Banda Aceh via Kuala Lumpur. There are 7 flights daily BKK to KUL but only one a day KUL to BTJ departing 1050, so not even the first flight from BKK to KUL would get you there in time to make the connection - you'd need to arrive the night before.
Better choices from Frankfurt, but you know that already.

It's the same flight, Garuda from Jakarta to Banda Aceh makes a stop in Medan.OP, as fast as can be is still over 32 hours !! you're very brave attempting that with a two year-old.

thanks to all the above. It do tooks a bit of time too find out the best flights & connection ;- ) I am thinking about HAM to CKG (Jakarta) on Emirates, then CKG to BTJ (Banda Aceh) on Garuda, (one or two days break in Jakarta @checking-girl ;). yet another question (cross posted at the indonesian branch):
I am thinking about spending a couple of weeks in Pulau Weh/Banda Aceh. Did a little bit of research, but still I've no idea where to live there. Would love to go diving (lumbalumba-resort?), but as I am with my two-years old, I'd appreciate a white, sandy and shallow beach, which would be maybe Freddies Santai Sumurtiga? looks like the beach at lumbalumba is a bit rocky? I am looking for a chilled-out place, nice people, not too basic, not too expensive, nice plants and sea.
Thanks for your help!

Hi all,do you have any idea what is the cheapest way to get from Denpasar to *Banda Aceh and to Pulau Weh from there? I checked some flights from Denpasar to Banda Aceh online and they were something over 400 euros....! can this be possible...? If this is the price, is Pulau Weh worth of even travelling?
