The Acropolis in Bergama?

Can anyone advise me whether or not to spend 2 days and 1 night
going to Bergama from Izmir by bus (2 hours) and visiting the Acropolis?
Thanks!

There's a Bergama trip report a few postings below.
But why go to and from Izmir? Just move on to your next destination from Bergama.

I've been traveling three months in Turkey with Bergama one of the highlights because I rose early to be one of the first at the site. Before crowds it is a neat site and more clearly obvious in structures than Troy and others. Remember in Bergama is also the Aesclepion, which, if you are interested in medicine is an interesting site. I also recommend the Gobi Pension for friendliness, helpfulness, and a respite from the busy center of Izmir. Ask for a room facing the garden to avoid street noise. Only one night in Bergama is pushing it but if you don't have the opportunity to see other antiquities this is a good one.

go_2,
I'm doing Insight's 2-week "Treasures of Turkey" first, but we won't have time for the Acropolis in Bergama.
And then I have 8 more days before going home.
I thought I would fly from Istanbul to Izmir, and travel to Bergama and back by bus before flying to Gaziantep. Then by bus to Sanliurfa and Mardin.

peregrinojim,
I have seen the Acropolis in Athens, and Ephesus, and will be seeing Troy and others before Bergama.
Several others have recommended Gobi Pension.
