Oh come on, like Brazil is the safest place on the planet.
Shit happen, but it happen globally, it has nothing to do with Argentina or S America particularly!

Overall I would say that the chances to get robbed in Brazil are much better than in Argentina. Any city in SA is dangerous at the bus and train stations. Even the european cities have that problem. In fact I got robbed twice in London, one in a trainstation, and never during 2 years backpacking in Southamerica. I witnessed a robbery at Miami airport with many security guards around and the thief just vanished leaving behind a buisnessman without money, ticket and passport. If you are travelling, you always have be aware and take precautions especially when your are with all your luggage and valuables. There are really few countries or areas left where you can relax 100%. 20 or 30 years ago, chilean and argentinean Patagonia was this kind of places and while it is certainly still a pretty safe area, you cannot even relax 100% there
