Tent camping from Seattle to Redwoods NP in early September
We'll be traveling from Seattle to Redwoods NP and back to Seattle between 9/6 and 9/14. We were thinking we'd head south along the coast to see the ocean, coastal parks, etc, and head back more inland to Crater Lake, Mount Hood, etc. We're looking for recommendations on federal and state campgrounds. Two adults, no kids or dogs, priority on aesthetics and quiet. Is it reasonable to expect to find that along the coastal highway, or will we need to move more inland? Thanks! :)3
I hate to let the secret out but you seem like nice people. Please don't tell anyone.http://www.co.del-norte.ca.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=300-florence-keller-park&catid=131-parks-and-beaches&Itemid=142

Well then, since you've done the research and read about each of the many park options then you'll know about each. If they allow camping, have lakes, fern grottos, redwoods, etc. Taking a look via Google Satellite view will also help you decipher if the terrain is what you seek. Or maybe this link would be of interest to you: http://www.milebymile.com/main/united_states/California/state_1_5/united_states_California_road_map_travel_guides.htmlPersonal experience? Camped in them all over the years. All lovely and quiet. Prefer Jedediah Smith, Prairie creek and Del Norte Redwoods. Fern grotto trial in Prairie Creek should met your aesthetics requirement. http://redwoods.info/showrecord.asp?id=476

We haven't camped, but have visited quite a few of the redwood parks. We thought the least interesting was Redwoods NP itself, and that many of the state parks were superior. The return trip via Crater Lake NP, Bend, Mt Hood, and the Columbia River, is very good ... but with just eight nights you won't be dawdling anywhere.
