Amman to Petra

The Jordan Bus company JETT http://www.jett.com.jo/ only lists Abdali-Petra as their Petra trip (no mention of Wadi Musa, but I assume they mean the Wadi Musa stop for Petra). Is Abdali in Amman? When I try to search for Abdali in Google maps, only Abdali Inn Hotel in Amman comes up. Is that where the bus departs from? Also the LP Israel book section on Petra says to take a sherut to the Allenby Bridge border, but doesn't say how to get from the border to Amman.

Also I'm trying to find out more information on getting from Aqaba to Eilat. As of now, I only know to take a taxi from Aqaba to the border. Hopefully there is a bus connection from the border to Eliat?

There is no bus on the Israeli side from the border to central Eilat. A taxi will run 25 NIS or so.

I read the book again right after I posted the above, and it seems like (going in reverse) I can take a 2.5 hr minibus from Petra to Aqaba for JD5, then a taxi from Aqaba to Eilat for JD8. However that implies that the taxi can cross the border? Is that correct? It's easier than the alternative, IIRC, to take a minibus/shared taxi or regular taxi from Aqaba to the border and take a taxi from the border to Eilat. If I don't want to spend time in Eilat (trying to get from Petra straight to Dahab), I might want a taxi directly from the Jordan/Israel border to Taba...

No, the taxi will not cross the border. You need to take two taxis; one on each side.

You can take the Israeli taxi from one border to the other or take the taxi from the Aqaba border crossing to the central Eilat bus station and then get a bus to the Taba border crossing.
