Ljubljana in 1 day? What to do
Hi,I´m a freelancing cultur journalist and will travel to Ljubljana next tuesday and will be staying for 2 nights.
I would like to know which places I really should visit and places where you can chill out...
I´m especially interested in alternative music (club) culture and arts...

Ljubljana is kind of center of Slovenia and in max 2. hours driving you can reach the most all four side end point of Slovenia. So suggest to visit also the Coast, towns like Koper, Piran

Bohinj (30 min from Bled) http://www.bohinj.si/en
Soca Valley http://www.dolina-soce.si/eng/
You can visit Kamnik and Velika Planina (40 min from Ljubljana)

Looks to me like Phillip wants to know what to do in Ljubljana itself rather than chasing around the country for 24 hours...the good news is that the entire city-centre is a very "chilled-out" kind of place, by capital city standards...The obvious place to head for is the castle which commands fine views over the city, and, indeed, the interior of the country, as far as the Julian Alps...the museum there is particularly good at explaining the modern history of Slovenia from Hapsburg times through the 2 World Wars, to the Yugoslav Federation and independence...
Tivoli Park to the west serves as the city's green, escape area but the tasteful bridges, fountains and streets add an impressive ambience to the Old Town...the area slightly to the south, towards the Shoemaker Bridge and beyond, is a favourite of mine to grab a wine or coffee and watch the various buskers, passers-by or just dream the day away...
I´m especially interested in alternative music (club) culture and arts...
Keep an ear out for alternative clubs that take place in some of the old buildings and warehouses in the city...there are world music sessions in the Celica Hostel on Tuesday nights and some of those clubs I mentioned are in that general area...
