flying to athens, istanbul prooved to be long and hectic, as the plane to ioannina leaves before i reach athens.Olympic Air has a flight from Athens to Ioannina departing at 20:35 on Sep. 30th. There are many flight options from Ljubljana to Athens changing planes in a third airport that allow you to arrive to Athens before the departure of that flight.

You may check the Bellair flight Trieste - Tirana for 82 EUR (Oct 1st) and go on from there by bus.Wizzair flies from Budapest to Corfu.
It's difficult to give any advice, as you don't tell us from where in Slovenia you intend to start.
The best solution for a start at Maribor may be different from that for Gorica or Ankaran.

Or go by train from Gorizia dp 7.40 to Ancona, board there the 17.00 ferry and arrive at Igoumenitsa Saturday at 10.00am5
i decided to fly from Ljubljana to athens via istambul on turkish airlines ( 212 euros), than take the night bus to ioannina.i do not have any visas to enter croatia, or Albania, otherwise flying from triesta to tiran would have been the best option
wizz air fly from budapest to corfu during summer time only. none in late sept or october.
other options flying from ljubljana to athens through Paris or zurich are not possible ( 40 minutes to change flight) or more expnsive options through vienna ( 550 euros).
thanks for the thoughts

@imijee:The cheapest option by air will depend on your travel dates, take a look at webs like Skyscanner or Kayak to see what could be the cheapest option by air on your travel dates. (BTW, you could take also a look at flights out of Zagreb -Croatia- to see if they are cheaper and if the price difference worth the hassle of going from Ljubljana to Zagreb).
It isn't possible to make all the route by train at the moment as there aren't international trains to/from Greece.

i have booked from Ljubljana to Athens through TURKISH airlines, for 212 euros. it will take around 5.30 hrs. but later i found a slightly better option money wise , but it is far better time wise.Fly with ADRIA from Ljubljana to Belgrade, and catch AGEAN airlines from there to Athens. it is just one hour to change the plane. and arrive at Athens daytime, not at night.
