Hi nirakk,I've spent a year travelling in China, and every bookstore (and hostel) I've ever been to that sells Lonely Planet guides, I've had a look for a Taiwan Lonely Planet, and I've never once seen one on offer. Your best bet in Beijing is probably the Bookworm, but they didn't have any Taiwan Lonely Planet's there when I visited.
How are you planning on arriving in Taiwan? If you're flying into Taipei, note that the airports have fantastically helpful Tourist Information desks that will go to great lengths to help you on arrival. You can buy Taiwan Lonely Planets (and also Rough Guides) at a bookstore in Taipei 101 (the tallest building in Taipei); book a hostel or hotel for the first couple of nights, and you should be fine.

I've bought both Taiwan LP and Rough Guide in the Bookworm before - but, as above, their stock is not consistent. If you have time you could ask if they can order it for you.If you have a Chinese person that can help you, there are also people selling both on Taobao.
If it helps, I found the Rough Guide way more useful.

Thank you for all the help. I found a Taiwan LP in the Bookworm shop in Beijing. Good to know that they also sold China lonely planets!
