15There's something fundamentally wrong with your thinking. It sounds as though you're trying to deal with an emotional reaction to uncertainty by using rational over-preparation
Why is the sky blue?
an attempt to be fully prepared
Try, but this is an impossible task. Reason? You don't have the experience, and the future is intrinsically unknown.
Right. I understand that, and that's why I used the word "attempt." Just because you can't fully prepare for the future doesn't mean you can't strive to be prepared. If anything, that's the motivation for this thread. I'm looking for experiences travelers have had that they didn't prepare for or think to account for. (but wish they had)
you feel is unique to your own personal experiences
The only thing unique to me is nothing other than the unique package of accumulated experiences over the years. I doubt that any detail taken in isolation is unique. And if it was unique to me, it wouldn't do you much good.
Please see other posts in the thread to get an idea of what I am looking for. 80% of the responses understood the original post.

16Ah, I see. That must make me the second biggest troll, because I thought about the same as BthDth wrote. But hey, calling anyone with a critical mind a troll is so much easier than using your brain or have a discussion based on well-thought arguments...
Being critical is great, and has it's place and benefits. However, from my limited time on these forums Bth has been unnecessarily critical in literally every one of his posts. He spent however much time he spent telling me that the future is uncertain and that you can't ever be fully prepared...
I'm glad he cleared that one up.
