Bus/Train Bucharest - Tulcea; Moldova/Bucovina
Hi,I will visit Romania in couple of weeks and want to stay two weeks. I will start in Bucharest and then visit the Danube delta. Is there anybody who could tell me how much a train or bus ticket from Bucharest to Tulcea costs?
As already mentioned I want to stay in Romania for two weeks. Does it make sense to visit the Bucovina monasteries, when I foremost want to visit Bucharest, the Danube delta, Transylvania and Maramures or would that be too stressful? Is it nicer to visit the Bucovina monasteries or the Maramures region?
Thanks
Hagust

Hi....There are two direct services between Gara Nord and Tulcea over a 24hr period.
The journey is around (I think) 6 hours. I'm guessing a standard one way fare would be about 50-60 Lei.
I don't do buses, so can't help you with them - sorry.
Personally, I wouldn't spend much time in Bucuresti. I don't like it.
In two weeks you can do all that you mention - easily. Nothing stressful about it at all.
Just be aware, both trains and buses on long routes aren't quick ! !
Hope you have a great trip.

The train costs ~71 lei (€16) and the bus at least 55 lei (€12).If you stick to visiting just the southern part of Transylvania (that's the most popular part) you'll have enough time to do Bucharest, the Delta, as well as both Maramures and Bucovina in these two weeks (one day in Bucharest, 2-3 days in the Delta, 3-4 days in southern Transylvania, 3-4 days in Maramures, 2-3 days in Bucovina).
