North or South???
Hi!It is SO difficult to deside where to go in Vietnam!! Hanoi area, and from there to Hue and Hoi An? Or HCM, Mekong and Phu Quoc?
We have max. 15 days stay. Many things to see, and we also want to have some time to relax on the beach. We are visiting Siem Reap (of course), before or after Vietnam.
Help! :-)

I am in the same boat with you...Cant decide if I want to go to the north or south...Although I am leaning toward the south. How are you getting to Siem Reap? The plane tickets I saw online are way over my budget =/

We start from BKK, flight to Hanoi if we are heading against North. Bus/car between BKK and SR if we choose South to SR, something like that :-) But we have to use flights on some distances to save time.4

Flying in or out of Cambodia is a mug's game. There are only a few airlines and they know it, so grab your ankles. Going the other way, I took a Mekong river boat to PP, a taxi to SR, and a bus to BKK. Saw a lot of cool things along the way.

I loved Vietnam but if I had to choose I would definately choose Hanoi and the North over the South...Hnaoi, Sapa and Halong Bay are all amazing..Hoi An is also well worth a visit. I didnt find Hue great and unless you are really interested in history I would suggest giving it a miss. I thought Hanoi was a much more interesting city than HCMC.9
You could always do the beach in Cambodia - we headed down to Sihanoukville and went to Otres beach which was very quiet with a handful of places to stay and eat. You can get there on a bus from Siem Reap (perhaps 12 hours or more but still an option). If you're already down south I would stay there as well, we loved the North but there's a lot to do up there - worth its own trip!
