Koh Samet/ Koh Chang to Sihanoukville

I am currently in Vietnam but heading to Thailand soon to meet my sister in Bangkok. From there we are going either to Koh Samet or Koh Chang and then on to Sihanoukville. I am wondering: 1. What people's preferences between Koh Chang and Koh Samet are And why (I have been to the southern gulf islands before but to neither of these) and 2. If travel to Sihanoukville is easier from either of the islands or if it is relatively similar. I could only find information from Cambodia to Thailand so any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Personally I prefer Samet because it is less developed.
Travel details to Cambodia are similar. Get off island, get a Bangkok to Trat bus, get a minivan or what ever transport is available to the border at Koh Kong. Get taxi or what ever to Sihanoukeville

I like Samet aswell, If you will spend your time there I would like to recommend Ao wai and Ao Lung Dam it beautiful beaches and quiet.
but if you enjoy night life just stay in Hat Sai Kaeo and Ao Wong Duean,
lots of activities and fun (=
