Thanks! Grażyna
When I went last year, you could get a short-term visa (a week or so) when you arrived at the airport in Lome. You could extend this by visiting a government office in town: no further fee.
You should be able to get a visa for Benin in Lome: note that you MUST have a visa before you arrive at the border or airport.
I lived in Benin for two years, so feel free to search this branch for the posts I made in the past.
In case you have Ghana embassy there, take Ghana visa and start your trip fom Accra. When you arrive in Accra, you can take Togo and Benin visa in Accra the following day. ,After That you can take a car to Lome(TOGO) Which it is about 3 hours drive from Accra. This will be cheaper for you and i can help you for that.I live in Accra(Ghana).
Thanks
The web of iatatravelcentre should provide accurate info about that question. The visa section in the web of Skyteam shoul provide accurate info about it too. However, be aware they aren't official sources. If you can get visa on arrival and want to be sure the airline will let you get on board without a visa, ask the relevant airline.
BTW, there's an embassy of Togo in Berlin so I think you shouldn't need to France. This is the web of the Embassy of Togo in Germany where, btw, you could also ask if you can get visa on arrival at the airport.
When the OP wrote "so it isnt ambasady of Togo, only French. They take a lot of money for visa for 48h." I think s/he meant that Polish citizens wishing to visit Togo are directed to the French embassy, which issues 48-hour visas for Togo. When I visited last year the position was exactly the same for the UK, and since we could get exactly the same 48-hour visa for a much lower price on arrival at the airport in Lome, there was little point in going through the French embassy.
Right. I didn't read the OP properly, sorry.
I should make a clarification regarding my post #5. When I said in #5 The embassy of Togo in Berlin seems to be accredited to Poland too, I said it because the Embassy of Togo in Berlin was in the list of diplomatic missions in Poland provided by the MFA of Poland. However, when the web of the embassy of Togo in Berlin talks about its jurisdiction, Poland isn't quoted...
OP: Sorry for my confusion about the embassies you quoted in your original post. The info I provided in #3 regarding the way you can know if you can get visa on arrival remains valid though.
Now I know that I can take a visa to Togo only from Ambassade de France in Warsaw but the price is a little bit the same in Warsaw visa is 60 Euros for 48 h; in Berlin is 100 euros for normal tourist visa and I must puy for sending passport etc.So I think is better go in my city to get visa pay 60 and try to get another visa in Lome ( price is 10 000 CFA=16 euro) its 76 euros cheaper.
Ambassade Germany in Warsaw dont give me visa. There aren t Ambassade Ghana in my country.
BUT I call Air France , and they said that for the people who live in country where there isnt Ambassade of Togo, they can arrive without visa and get visa in Lome on arrival. What You think I can arrive without visa?????? Any experiance? I look for somebody who live in country without Ambassade od Togo and can say something about it.
Best for everybody! Grazyna
I don't want to sound unpleasant, but I can't really understand your English. Did you talk with Air France in Polish? If so you can be confident that you understood them correctly.
You ask about experience: as I posted above, I arrived in Lome without a visa; got a short-term one at the airport; later extended it at an office in town. (The visa fee was CFA10,000 or EUR20.) But that was last year and the rules might have changed, and anyway they might be different for British citizens than they are for Poles.
I spoke in polish with Air France, so I think they knew I want to know. Another question: It is possible to get visa in Your country normaly going to Ambassade of Togo? If you got visa on arrival last year...
I know that in Benin everybody must have visa, Starting from 1 may 2012 there isnt possible to get visa in aeroport. Before it is easy. So everythink change. I want to go in january 13 so I have a little time. Thanks ones more!

Ask your airline: Air France are good at giving up to date answers to this kind of question. When I went last year, you could get a short-term visa (a week or so) when you arrived at the airport in Lome. You could extend this by visiting a government office in town: no further fee.

given the headache visas can give you once on the ground in West-Africa, it sounds to me a very bad idea to risk facing that mess just to save a couple dozen euros (or so...). Try to get all the visas you need from your home country, you'll still have other African annoyances to deal with.... :)and that is a West-Africa experienced traveller talking..... ;-)

#12 - it's more than a couple dozen euros difference. It's maybe $30 US to get a Togo visa at the airport, while it's about $330 to get one at the embassy in Washington DC. So actually it's very useful to know which countries you can get it at arrival.ADVERTISEMENT
