Palolem dogs

It is monsoon and South Goa is quiet without the beach shacks. Can anyone suggest how to get the message across to the beachfront lessees that the number of dogs on the beach puts tourists off? dog poo gets washed out, but not pleasant knowing it is in the shallows. One residence had 3 dogs in front of the restaurant and the faeces kept getting trod into the sand. Is there not a law on Palolem about dog numbers for each restaurant and accommodation option?

i don't think any of the dog's are owned by the beach shacks.
they are just 'beach dogs' and are in effect strays but have their own territory around each shack relying on leftovers and titbits off western tourists.

Welcome to India, Indian status quo, laws notwithstanding.

I believe the Lok Sabha is debating the issue at this very moment. Expect action to be implemented as soon as the Bill passes both Houses of Parliament and is signed into law by the President. Of course it may take some time for the new Ministry for the Control of Canine Faeces to be established given that the Government has been wrestling with the problem of human faeces for as long as anyone can remember. Develop a blind eye - pretty essential for travelling in India/

Funny post ...

Welcome to India. Go where the fishermen use a beach, the poo won't be from dogs.

Consider a beach holiday in Thailand, or Australia.

Maybe your not quite ready for India yet OP !! Another option would be maybe either Spain , Florida , Australia , Italy ...

Good luck with any hounds that you may come across else where in India , at least the Beach Hounds are mellow compared with their Mountain village compatriot's , who can be a tad on the aggressive side to say the least ...

And what about the beach cattle? A herd of them sunning themselves, taking space away from the tourists ..
