San Juan del Sur to Managua

We'll be travelling from San Juan del Sur to Managua on a Wednesday to catch a 2 pm flight to the Corn Islands. Therefore, to be safe, we likely have to arrive at the airport in Managua no later than 12:30 pm.
Can anyone suggest the alternatives for this and approximate pricing of each? I think I've read that a bus is approx. 3 hours between these two places, but correct me if I'm wrong.

there is a very early morning bus that leaves SJDS back to Managua (Huembes Market)... cost of about $3 or so... then catch a taxi back to the airport. Your hotel/hostel will be able to direct you to the bus stop...happy travels!
