Highlights of portugal and cross to Gibraltar onto Morocco - 2 wk itinerary

I have two weeks (Sep 14 - 30) to play with. I'm thinking about flying into Porto then making my way down to Faro, crossing over to Gibraltar, into Morocco then flying out... How does that sound? Perhaps overly ambitious for 2 weeks?

I want to take in the sites of great natural beauty - perhaps some nice walks, some stuff off-the-beaten-track, and visit places of cultural and religious significance as well as some beautiful beaches, then i'd like to cross over into Spain to take the ferry into Morocco and perhaps spend a few days (probably only Marrakesh given the time frame).

Any advice/alterations would be welcomed as I have never been to these countries.

"How does that sound?". In fact rather stupid. There is only one ferry per week from Gibraltar to Morocco, on friday to bring the Moroccans, who work in Gibraltar back to Morocco for the weekend and back on sunday. The ferries from Spain to Morocco leave from Algeciras and Tarifa as well as from Almeria and Malaga.
I think there is enough to see and do in Portugal and Southern Spain, so a visit to Morocco seems unnecessary.

With only 2 weeks, I would stick to Portugal.

@Liberat (#1): AFAIK, there are ferries from Málaga to Melilla but not to Morocco.

Some of my favourite beaaches in Portugal are Beliche, Carrapateira and Ocedeixe

Carrapateira and Ocedeixe have a family type atmosphere and they are between Lisbon and the Algarve

Beliche is in San Vicente Cape, right at the southwestern tip of Europe. Sagres and the surroundings are really nice with a bunch of nice beaches.

#2. You are probably right. I only know that there is a ferry from Malaga to the other side of the Mediterranean. I realise that for you Melilla is part of Spain and thus not Morocco, but just outside of this spanish enclave begins Morocco. A ferry from Malaga to Melilla might make sense if the OP would want to go to the eastern part of Morocco.

As I was reading your topic, the first thing that came into my mind was Sagres - be sure to go there, it has the natural beauty and historic value that you want :)
