Turkish airlines from Johannesburg?
Hello!!I'm tyring to book a ticket on Turkish airlines on the 30th of August but it says it's either sold out or not applicable, there are seats on the 27,28, 29 and 31 and no flight on sept 1st.The airline's timetable says they have flights every day.Is it possible that the flights are fully booked so far ahead?(Ok not THAT far ahead)Are those dates/days(thursday and saturday) when more people travel? There's no way I can contact them to clarify that....(I do not live in SA and there's no Turkish airlines' office in my country).
One day wont make a lot of difference I know...I just wanted to know if end of August was THAT high season.
Thanks!!

Hmm,odd.I just took a look and came up with-http://www4.thy.com/troyaonline/availabilityInt.tk;jsessionid=2qlvQyhWGcvCmSgQRhytZplpbkZVy5JdNSvLCl7r1nty1yWKJ1TK!-36411967
which seems to imply full or no service those days.I guess those days could be full but.... I'm inclined to think there is no service in spite of THY's web site saying flights every day :)
I know of someone else who has booked flights from J.burg for 3 weeks time and found flights from there to Istanbul be very busy throughout September for some reason and eventually booked with another airline,Etihad Airlines,as THY was so busy.Although not a direct flight, connections times aren't bad and it was considerably cheaper than THY too.

August isn't the highest part of the season, but it's still a popular time to be flying from South Africa, which is cold at this time of year (Johannesburg was snowing last week), up to Europe.I just checked and there is availability on Turkish Airlines flight TK41 from JNB to Istanbul on the 30th August, which leaves at 09h55.
