Late night/early morn arrival at Bandaranaike Airport

We are arriving at the international airport late November at 12.15am and are wondering if we should head to Colombo or Negombo at at hour of the night/morning? We would be travelling by taxi or is it worth arranging a hotel pick up?
As yet we have no plans as to whether we travel clockwise or anti or any set plans at all. We will be spending 3 and a half weeks in Sri Lanka plus about 5 days in Maldives.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi,

Your first night stay depend on how you going to do your. If you going to do it clockwise choose Negombo for your first night. If it's anticlockwise choose colombo as your first night.
I am a wildlife photographer in here. I am using shanik as my driver in here. Send me a pm if you want his details for your airport transfer.

Cheers !

Hotel pick up's are mostly expensive they have to pay extra charges for the airport such as parking ticket/ entrance tickets/ buy paging board

Take prepaid taxi from airport
5-6taxi counters are located at arrival lobby.
Check the price from each counter finally you can have better rate.

Within 3 and half weeks you can do lot
First 3-4 day relax on the beach. If you are looking for simple accommodations you can plan it day by day.
