kilimanjaro and mountain gorillas

hello everyone a couple of questions..me and a friend will be hiking kilimanjaro in mid october and shortly after will go to rwanda to see mountain gorillas..so far we have done research on "zara" tours to do kilimanjaro trek and "amahoro" to get gorilla permits and take us to see them. has anyone used these agencies on similar trips? would you recommend them? have other recommendations? we are backpackers and are obviously trying to do these excursions as inexpensive as possible..also, any recomendations on what route to take up to the summit of kili? like i said we'd like to do it as cheap as possible and so the quickest route is the cheapest..but due to altitude is it difficult getting to the top in such short time? we are both in good shape and expereinced hikers but not experienced with this type of altitude..thanks in advance, any recomendations will be greatly appreciated :) happy travels

"..the quickest route is the cheapest..but due to altitude is it difficult getting to the top in such short time?"

The quickest routes comes with the highest fail rates ( think 30 % and upwards) , and being fit has no bearing on altitude sickness.

Hi There,
I have booked to do Kilimanjaro and African overland with a very cheap company called absolute africa. I have done alot of research on using this company and they by far seem to be the chepaest and most reasonable with the best reviews. Kilimanjaro is costng me $900 pounds which seems very cheap compared to other operators, the gorillas will be done through the tour and i think they are costing 380 pounds, not cheap but a once in the lifetime opportunity!

Anyways, i'll be blogging about my global travel adventures, so pleas check out and subscribe to my blog! www.travellingbelle.com

I've booked with Absolute Africa to do Kilimanjaro and then a 2 week safari. They've been great in answering all my questions and from my research, seemed reasonably priced with good reviews. I'll be heading out in two weeks!
