Buenos Aires first time - hotel selection

I am having a bit of hard time in terms of deciding where to stay in Buenos Aires. We will be there for 3 nights, first time in buenos, we are looking for a hotel centrally located; Mid-range, w/bfast. The most important thing is that it is clean, comfortable and has good location.

I have narrowed down to few, but i am still not sure if they are the right choices....so any advice or other suggestions are appreciated. Thank you

Hotel Pulitzer

Tryp Hotel

Rooney's Hotel

Savoy Hotel

I don't know any of the hotels you mention, but my personal choice based on their locations would be the Hotel Pulitzer, on Maipú. The street itself is one that I think of as relatively quiet at night, and that address would be near the Plaza San Martín and Calle Florida, the pedestrian street. On three different trips to Buenos Aires, I've stayed at a hotel located on Santa Fé and Esmeralda, which is about a block from the location of the Pulitzer.

Rooney's is described as "overlooking" Callao, and the Savoy is on Callao itself. Both hotels are well located, but Callao is a wide, busy street that I think of as noisy; I don't know if it is less noisy at night.

My last choice from among the hotels you mention would be the Tryp. In my opinion it is the least centrally located of the four. The location is a good one, just not the one I would choose if I had your four choices. Others may disagree, of course. Good luck, and enjoy your stay!
