Guangxi 10 day
Hello guys,I leave Hanoi on the morning of the 19th of August and fly back from Guangzhou to Heathrow in the early hours of the 29th. I am looking to cram as much as possible into the last 10 days of my 5 month trip. I want to visit the dragon backbone rice terraces, cormorant fisherman, xingping ancient town and see as much of the karst landscape as possible. I believe it takes around 24hrs to reach Guilin from Hanoi so my plan was:
19th - Travel to Guilin
20th - Arrive Guilin, bus straight to Yangshuo
21st - Yangshuo
22nd - Yangshuo
23rd - Night in Xingping
24th - Night in Gulin
25th - Dragons Backbone Terraces
26th - Dragons Backbone Terraces
27th - Guilin to Guangzhou
28th - Explore Guangzhou in the day, fly back 1 am 29th
Can anyone see any major flaws in this/can anyone suggest any better options? I am a photographer so people and landscapes are what I want to focus on.
Thanks in advance
Jake

Thanks! That's a bonus then, I was being conservative with the timings just in case of problems. Do you think it would be possible to get from Hanoi to Guilin the same day? So there is a direct bus from Xingping to Ping An? Is it better to head away from Ping An for the best views of the terraces?Edited by: JacobJames

No direct bus between Xingping and the rice terraces. You probably will need to go Xingping - Yangshuo - Guilin - rice terraces. You can do the journey in one day though. For the rice terraces, PingAn is more touristy than Dazhai. Up the hill from Dazhai is the village of Tiantouzhai which is a nice place to stay.
