Three Week Suggestions

Hey Guys,

I am currently planning a three week maximum trip to Thailand, starting in Phuket for myself and a friend. (November timeframe)

My friend is being a good sport about going off the grid, but I think we need to do things that are a bit more "contained" and just feel off the grid.

Can anyone suggest some fantastic things to see in Thailand with a limited timeframe like this one?

We are hoping to move north from Phuket and enter Cambodia to see Angkor Wat.

Thanks for all your help, Cheers!

Well, there isn't much "off the grid" in tourist central Phukit area, but you could always hire a car and drive down all the small roads that don't get used much to see where they lead.

from phuket head north through Pha na it a beautiful province lots of islands and beaches have a look at Tezza website for info on the islands.

From there carry on up to Ranong province which will be lovely and green at this time of year the raining season should be just about over (it can really rain there)

from ranong a boat over to beautiful Koh Phayam or Small Koh Chang (Koh Phayam will just about gearing up about this time but i imagine not very busy and koh Chang does not really get out of first gear beautiful jungle covered paradise imo)

from Ranong u can also do a quick trip over the border to Burma if that takes your fancy.

From Ranong to BKK is about 9 hours on overnight bus but if time allowed i would jump the 2 hour mini bus to chumphon where you are well placed for the boats to Koh Tao or going north from Chumphon take the train to Prechaup kiri khan lots more beaches and quite towns.

enjoy

I took 3 weeks in Thailand some years ago and loved it!

BKK - Ayuthaya (for some culture) - Chiang Mai (Laid back small town) - flight to Krabi (Hat Rai Leh West and fell in love with it) - Ko Phi Phi (too touristy for me, choose any other beautiful beach).

We did this in low season and did EVERYTHING we could fit in a day, mostly doing midrange and highend sleeping,
And spent about 2500euro, including all flights etc...

Hope this helps.
