Rajasthan by motorbike in August: want to join?!
Hi all,I'll be in Jodhpur from around the 16th-18th August and was planning to rent a motorbike and drive around the desert for around 10-12 days.
Firstly, does anybody know of places to rent motorbikes in Jodhpur? Any experiences?
I think i'd follow the route: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer - Barmer - Sanchor - Udaipur - Ranakpur - Jodhpur (or something like that)
Anyone interested in joining? PM me or reply!

Well, I'm in Jodhpur now. Going to look around a bit for bikes tomorrow.6
For anyone interested, there are no motorbike rental shops in Jodhpur, and none of the guesthouses are willing to rent them. I tried for 2 days. If you're looking to buy one you'll find interested people but renting is a no no. jazzmanblues - please only give advice if you actually know what you're talking about.Eventually I took a bus to Pushkar and rented one there. You can rent Enfields, Yamahas, Hondas etc. there at really good prices. I got a TVS 110CC for 200 Rs. a day and drove all around Rajasthan. Pushkar-Jodhpur-Jaisalmer-Patan (Gujarat)-Mount Abu-Udaipur-Ranakpur-Pushkar. Great little bike. Over 60km/litre, which is almost 3 times the fuel efficiency of a Bullet.
It was a lot of driving but on great roads, and I got to see some out-of-the-way places. Really enjoyable trip.
