Helsinki - Aug 8th-13th - travel buddy and tips wanted!
Hello all, just joined the lonely planet community. Somehow I convinced my work that I deserve a sabbatical so booked a flight to Helsinki. Never been there so wondering about the following:Tips - any recommendations for restaurants (local cuisine and any other recs), bars/pubs, historical sites to visit would be appreciated.
Travel Buddy - Definitely looking to meet fellow travelers, whether for coffee, dinner, jog around the city, explore some sites, I am pretty open. It's always more fun getting lost with company!
Me - white, 34, American, love good food and wine, museums, etc, staying at Hotel Kamp. Trying to get soccer tickets for the local professional team for Aug 12th (I always try to see the local soccer team when traveling)

Hi John!As a local I'd recommend you visit Suomenlinna (a must-see fortress on an island, 20min ferry ride from main market square), Kallio for authentic nightlife and a public sauna, the Pavilion (http://wdchelsinki2012.fi/en/pavilion) and restaurant Tori (Punavuorenkatu 2).
BTW, the Flow festival (http://www.flowfestival.com/en/) is going on from 8th til 12th, if you wonder where all the cool young hipsters are, haha.

Thanks Noora!One more thing for the group - I might attend a football match in Lahti on Aug 12. Is there a train I can take from Helsinki to get me to the stadium? (I think its about 100km from Helsinki). I assume there are trams and shuttle buses but wanted to make sure before I buy tickets. Thanks!
