Mostar winter weather

Hello,

I am considering a trip to Dubrovnik and Mostar in December round Christmas time. I was wondering what kind of weather I should have to count on and wether traffic from Dubrovnik to Mostar could be problematic because of snow...I am going to have to get by on public transport, so are there still frequent buses between those two cities in that time of the year?

Hi....

Expect it to be quite cold - especially after dark.
Public transport is pretty efficient, all year round.

Cold is OK...as long as it doesn't drop to minus 30 (celsius) or something similar. I live in Holland, so I'm used to some cold.

El Ninjo makes that nobody can predict the weather anywhere for one year in advance.
Last winter in Mostar, there was the biggist snow ever. Everything was blocked, but previous winters were with sunny days with flowers at fruit branches.

Minus 4 in Mostar, never before winter 2012.

The most number of winters in Mostar were like at this pic. FULL OF LIGHT

Snow is rare in that part of the country, both BiH and Croatia, but it can always surprise - like it did last year I believe. But last year's winter was extreme all over Eastern Europe. Its considerably milder then norther parts of the country and would be milder then the Netherlands. Days are quiet short around that time of the year. Public transport between Mostar and Dubrovnik should be fine - unless there is a major snow fall, but it is unlikely.

Cool thanks, you've put my mind at ease. Think I might just go for it.
