And yes, several universities in Europe do their study in English, but I can't find the list now...

Or look at Australia/NZ
Or the Aus/NZ/UK universities that have campuses in Asia (e.g., http://www.nottingham.edu.my/index.aspx )

"It is actually cheaper to pay Intl. fees than study in the US" (celticbhoy7)

"Studying in the US costs a lot not to mention the cost of apartments around the campus and going out, and I think I could study in one of the lesser known cities of Europe" (hnsen)

This is just not true the way you put it. There are many more scholarship programms in the US than in Europe. Plus every parent is aware of this when the kids go to school the first time. If studying was unaffordable in the US, where do all the graduates come from? Only rich people's children? This is not true.

Hnsen instead of philosophying about your understanding of taking english classes to graduate and whether your situation in Slovenia would in any way be cheaper than in your own country, why don't you contact the university and ask for exceptions and see what they can do for you? Or if they are willing to do anything. Especially your very arrogant statement about lesser known cities in Europe is one of the reasons why it is not so easy for a foreigner to study in a country with less economy strength. For years German medicine students went to Hungary when they did not receive an admission to a German university. But even they had to learn the language to continue graduate studies.

I don't think Thron Tree Forum is the right place to discuss your issues. Seek for the right people to answer your questions and enlighten your assumptions.

I really just want to study abroad independently, enrolled in a US university while I take a leave of absence but I think I got a little off topic since everyone was asking about what I wanted to study, finances, and difficulty of finding courses in English. Of course I am in it for the education, but I really wanted to find the least painless way to take in culture studies by living abroad and experience it that way.

It depends upon the subject you want to study which university might be considered best. And then there is your ability to speak the local language. If the best university were in Estonia or Hungary and you didn't speak the language, it wouldn't matter if it were the best as you would have trouble studying there.
