Driving around the worldHello,
I'm planning on buying a used 4x4 (maybe a Toyota Landcruiser or Land Rover Defender) and driving around the world in it. I have money saved up, have no ties (except the ones I wear for work) and dislike my job so can pretty much start my trip at any time...once it's all planned out.
I have a route, which is basically through Scandinavia, Russia, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Central America, America, Canada, Iceland, home.
Has anyone here done such a thing or know if it's cheaper to ship one vehicle across continents or to sell and buy a vehicle as I travel?
Also, could I use my UK driving license in each country or would I need to get some sort of special permit?
Any information, help or tips would be muchly appreciated so I can turn this dream into reality!
Oh yeah, if there's anyone that wants to come with me then that would be great too.

1Lots of people have travelled long distances overland and there are specialist websites.
A motoring organisation can sort out the various documents etc you need.
A UK license gets you most places in Europe but you need an International One supplied at a small cost by the motoring organsation.
So that is the basics and the best of luck.
