NJ Transit. $16.50 each way.2
Or Suburban Transit, $13.95 each way. http://www.coachusa.com/info/suburban/ss.toolkit.fares.asp . But I'd take the train, unless arriving at NYC Port Authority bus terminal was advantageous.Or (to answer the question pretty literally, not that I'd recommend this), I think one could assemble a feasible bike route to the Staten Island ferry.

@4: I'm not sure what you mean by "there" and "that." If you're asking whether the Suburban Transit bus goes from Princeton all the way to NYC Port Authority, I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. It know it does from New Brunswick. But check their website at the link I provided. As to the origination point at Princeton: By train it's Princeton Junction, which is connected to central Princeton by the "dinky" short train shuttle and taxis. See http://www.princeton.edu/pr/pub/is/5arrival.html . By bus I'd bet it's downtown (Nassau Street), but check.
