Can't see why someone would sponsor your trip unless you have something really valuable to offer in return and your trip is something special/different/something never seen before. Also can't see why it would be a record, people travel overland all the time, check out www.horizonsunlimited.com (mainly motorbikes, but also heaps of cars) and their HUBB forum, there's hundreds of overland travellers (cars and bikes) on their.

For many countries you will need a Carnet de Passage (enquire at your local AA) which basically is a customs declaration stating that whatever you import into the countries you are passing through will be exported aswell, not sold in the country. You need a cash deposit for your carnet, the amount depends on the value of your car and on the regulations on the coutnries you will be travelling through. Egypt for example (it's probably not on your route, I know) requires a carnet deposit of 600% of the value of your car, most other countries it's between 50 and 200%. You have to pay that to your local bank and you'll only get it back when you bring your carnet back after the trip and prove this way that you still have the car and haven't sold it on route.

On top of the carnet, you will also need to purchase insurance at each border.

Costs for visa, fuel, hotels.. will of course depend on where you are going. You didn't say so how would we know?

India to Germany by car? Nah, too lame.

This is more like it, if you want to impress people: "Man cycles across the world from China for London 2012" http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-18980693

People drive all around the world by car all the time, so just driving from India to Germany would be in no way a 'national record'

Sorry but driving from India to Germany, though a fantastic trip, is not that special, as mentioned above people have driven all over following various routes. So getting a sponsorship will probably not be all that easy. But hey, you can always try.

Visas, fuel...etc. will be expensive.
