Holyhead - Dublin and Belfast - Glasgow

Hi everyone,

I need to ask for a help. I've been looking for the cheapest way, how to get from Holyhead to Dublin and from Belfast to Glasgow as a foot passenger (on a ferry). Prices are extremely hight on websites of Irish ferries and Stena line.

Could us help hitchiking? In case it could, do you know some good spots in Holyhead, where to hitchhike?
Or is there some other cheap way, how to get to Dublin and Glasgow?

Thanks a lot!

Hi....

Ferries vary in price quite a bit depending on routes, dates etc.
There are cheap budget flights from UK to Dublin, much loser prices than the ferries.
Masses quicker - too.

Just found GBP 28 one way Holyhead-Dublin for Aug 6 on www.irishferries.com. Bearing in mind that's as far as I know a final fair as opposed to a Ryanair fare that you have to add taxes and charges and fees and levies to, it doesn't strike me as that expensive. Those fares seem to be available for foot passengers on almost every sailing (GBP 28 on the slow ferry and 33 on the fast one).

Also, you can get a sail-rail fare that includes a rail transfer on the UK end for no more than 45 euros.
