Trekking India in April?I will be in India next March-April, and I want to include a 5-7 day trek in my trip..I hear trekking season starts in May, so I'm pushing back the trek as much as possible. The latest it could be is the first or second week of April.
Where would it be ideal for me to trek?
Also if I'm alone would I be able to find other people to go with? If so where? Or would it be better off for me to pay to go in a group?

1May will be a bit hot in many places, global warming I guess.
Although a few will be closed in April depending upon weather conditions, there are a lot of places even in March. Try Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradeh for Himalayan treks. There are some good places in North-Eastern states Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Assam too. Try reading up a bit about these and shortlist some.
I don't know about finding a travel buddy, depends upon your own efforts and luck. Traveling by a travel agency isn't always cheaper.

2I've never been there in April, but I guess you could try the Pindari Glacier in Uttarakhand. Only the final section is really in high altitude and could remain in the snow. But maybe the governement-run accomodation will still be closed at that time.
Definitely possible in that season in Darjeeling and Sikkim.
